Survey Suggests Maduro's Victory in Venezuelan Presidential Elections

Caracas, Feb 19 (Prensa Latina) A survey by the ICS pollster issued today suggested that 56.3 percent of Venezuelans would vote for President Nicolas Maduro in the presidential elections of April 22nd.
ICS director Ronald Sanchez told the program 'Primera Pagina', of the private channel Globovision, that the social policies seeking to protect the population from the economic actions fostered by the opposition to destabilize the country will have a positive influence on the electoral results in favor of Maduro.

According to Sanchez, the population recognizes that the Government implemented public initiatives for the good of the people, such as the Comites Locales de Abastecimiento y Produccion, a mechanism to supply food at subsidized prices, the delivery of aid bonds, among others.

The survey also indicated that 80.8 percent of voters is willing to participate in the presidential elections on April 22nd.

The survey was carried out directly in homes from January 20th to February 4th, and covered 75 percent of the Venezuelan municipalities.
